Desktop
Desktop apps
A native app built with Tauri, running zcrypt-core, the in-process Rust engine, so your files are encrypted on your device before they ever leave it.
- v0.1.7
macOS
Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 10.15 Catalina or later.
Download for macOSM1–M4 · .dmg · also .dmg
macOS will block it once, that's expected: tap for how to proceed
zcrypt isn't notarized yet, so macOS says it can't verify the app the first time you open it. Click Done, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. A one-time step. Or skip it entirely with the one-line install below.
- v0.1.7
Windows
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
Download for Windowsx64 · .exe · also .msi
Windows SmartScreen will flag it, that's expected: tap for how to proceed
We haven't bought a code-signing certificate yet, so Windows treats the installer as unrecognized. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". Normal for an independently-published app without a paid certificate, not a sign anything's wrong with the file. Or skip it with the one-line PowerShell install below.
- v0.1.7
Linux
64-bit. Pick your distro's package, or the portable build for anything else.
Portablex86_64 · AppImageOne-time setup: chmod +x the file, then run it. On Fedora, also install FUSE first, sudo dnf install fuse.
Install with one command
Skips the “unverified app” prompt. Paste it into a terminal.
curl -fsSL https://zcrypt.cloud/install.sh | shInstalls zcrypt into Applications and opens it. No security prompt, no Homebrew needed.
Already use Homebrew?
brew tap wosmos/zcrypt
brew trust wosmos/zcrypt
brew install --cask zcryptLooking for a specific build or an older version? Browse all releases on GitHub.
Android
On your phone, sideloaded
Not on the Play Store, so grab the APK directly and install it yourself. Takes about a minute.
zcrypt for AndroidBeta
Sideload the APK: the same drive, no Play Store wait.
Open the file, allow installs from this source once, install. Android flags "unknown developer" for anything outside Play, it's the same public CI as everything else here.
Scan to install on your phone
Every build is open source
Desktop, Android, and web, all built in the open from the same repository. Read the code, check the checksums, or build it yourself.
